Kerry Moran Bsc (Hons)

As you can see from the title above I am a graduate. I studied a degree in Computer Science at Nottingham Trent University. Since graduating I have persued a career in the field of web design/development.

I am originally from Essex in the South East of England and before going to University I attended Braintree College where I studied an advanced GNVQ in IT.

Outside the web industries I like spend my free time socialising with my friends. I like to play football regularly as well as play squash and sometimes go swimming.

EXPERIENCE

Website Developer/Designer

BM & PR Ltd offer services in marketing and public relations. I was primarily employed as a Website Developer. My tasks involved creation of front end websites, administrator utilities and content management systems. In this role I have gained sound experience in a variety of web languages such as HTML, XHTML and CSS while conforming to W3C standards. I developed dynamic web pages using a variety of scripting languages which includes ASP, PHP and JavaScript. I was able manipulate databases and data retrieval using SQL. I worked with a variety of software tools such as Dreamweaver, Microsoft access, MySQL and SQL server.

I was delighted to be given the responsibility of improving the organisations project management procedures. I identified the areas which required improving and recognised the need for an online system. I designed and developed the system which was proven to vastly improve the management of projects.

BM & PR were quick to realise my creative flair and utilised my Photoshop skills in a variety of publications. These included corporate websites, banners, e-shots and card design.

Website Designer

Lativio is an e-commerce solutions provider. My primary role was a web designer which involved creation of front end websites for external clients. Here I gained excellent working knowledge of web design and technologies which include Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I interacted with the product managers and clients throughout the lifecycle in order to iteratively design and develop the most advantageous website. I was able to work efficiently to meet strict deadlines, provide effective documentation and manage workloads whilst agreeing priorities with my manager. I also enjoyed using my skills to train new staff and using techniques for search engine optimisation. I was able to liaise efficiently with international clients and vastly improve my communication skills.

Website Designer/Developer

E2Z is a web design company where I gained valuable experience in web design, development and deployment. This role provided me with a good awareness of a wide range of web technologies such as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Flash MX and SQL Server.
